Day: 08 | Time: 15:11:22.000Z Boeing has agreed to plead guilty to criminal fraud in connection with the two 737 Max crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia that resulted in the deaths of 346 people. With this agreement, the company will avoid a criminal trial for the incidents, which have so far cost the company billions of dollars in compensation claims and fines. Boeing will pay a maximum criminal fine of $487.2 million and invest at least $455 million in its compliance and safety programs over a three-year probation period. The agreement also includes independent monitoring of compliance for three years and the determination of compensation amounts to the victims' families by the court. The families of the victims intend to oppose the agreement.
